Brandon Sutter injury puts pressure on Canucks’ young centres
While Canuck Nation screams, often incoherently, for the young guys to play more, there’s an argument to be made that second-year centre Bo Horvat is playing too much.
But the burden he carries as a 20-year-old top-six forward in the National Hockey League wasn’t lightened by today’s pre-game news that key Canuck centre Brandon Sutter is being shut down for two weeks in an attempt to deal with a lingering abdominal injury.
That means ongoing second-line duty for Horvat and third-line duty for 19-year-old rookie centre Jared McCann.
